From Labor & Delivery Nurse to Maternity Photographer: Kasey Miranda’s Journey

In September 2019, Kasey Miranda’s life took an unexpected and beautiful turn. A simple family portrait session with Naomi Solorio, a wedding photographer, sparked an instant and lifelong connection. What started as a chance meeting with Naomi, who is now her best friend, soon evolved into much more—a mentorship, a friendship, and a new career path.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, many were left searching for new passions and ways to adapt. Naomi did more than just inspire Kasey—she taught her the fundamentals of photography, guiding her step by step through this new creative venture. As a skilled obstetrical and Labor & Delivery nurse, Kasey naturally gravitated toward maternity portraiture. Her medical background allowed her to connect deeply with expectant mothers, capturing their journeys into motherhood in a way that felt both personal and professional.

Now, with summer in full swing, Kasey is pushing the boundaries of her creativity by diving into underwater portraiture. This new chapter in her photography journey is an exciting expansion of her skills, blending her artistic vision with a love for capturing life’s most precious moments.
