Meet Jasmine Marie the owner of JM Print and Designs

JM Print & Designs didn't start out working with female entrepreneurs. It was my way of getting my feet wet in the graphic design industry. I was trying to build my portfolio up after graduating from college in 2009 from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. My business at the time around 2013 allowed me to cover some bills as a single mother. It was a form of hustle. I took on every client who came my way. It was years later that I realized that majority of my clients were women. African American women who were just starting out a business or needed to rebrand. Around 2019, I was feeling stagnate in my business and felt like a shift needed to happen. I then realized that my clients and potential clients just needed a logo or another design for their business. Branding is more than just a logo. I wanted to teach other black women on the importance of have an impactful brand. Educating them on brand awareness. We have so much skill, knowledge and talent and it's conducive that our brand follows. I have a passion for helping others and find joy in when a woman steps out of her comfort zone to go after what she wants for herself and her business.

One piece of advice that I can give to someone on becoming the best version of themselves is to not conform to what the world wants you to be. We live in a world where media and especially social media makes you think that you have to be a certain way to be accepted. I tell my clients and other women to just be you. Be unique and tap into it! Don't get sucked into thinking that there is no space for you. Create your own space...your own lane! Forget what other people think and own your uniqueness!
